About Me

Midwifery Student

Hi, I’m Claire, a Midwifery Student with a strong interest in supporting women to feel informed, confident and empowered throughout pregnancy.

I created this website as part of a health promotion assessment, but the topic of nutrition during pregnancy is also something I feel personally passionate about. When I was pregnant, I remember finding the amount of information available extremely overwhelming. There was so much advice about what to eat, what to avoid and what was considered “healthy”, but it was not always easy to know which information was accurate, reliable or relevant.

This experience made me realise how daunting nutrition can feel during pregnancy, particularly when there is so much conflicting information available online. Instead of making women feel more confident, searching for answers can sometimes leave them feeling confused or unsure about whether they are making the right choices.

I created this website to provide simple, accessible and reliable information about nutrition during pregnancy. My aim is to make the information easier to understand and help women feel more confident when making decisions about their nutrition without feeling overwhelmed by the amount of information available.

As a Midwifery Student, I am continuing to develop my knowledge and understanding of pregnancy, nutrition and health promotion. Through this resource, I hope to share evidence-based information in a way that is approachable, practical and useful for pregnant women and their families.

Most importantly, this website is about helping women feel supported and informed—because nutrition during pregnancy does not need to be confusing or daunting.
